National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET): Growth Models & Assessment Development
Since 2014, Education Analytics (EA) has partnered with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) to provide services related to TAP: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement.
EA and NIET developed student growth metrics, reporting, and associated professional development for participating schools in Minnesota and Iowa. These student growth metrics are an integral piece of the TAP implementation to identify high growth schools, grades, and teachers.
EA and NIET identified a need for standards-aligned outcomes for traditionally non-tested grades and subjects. To address this need, EA worked with schools in Minnesota, Iowa, and Tennessee on teacher-created assessments. This process involved EA’s four-stage process of training, creation, validation, and growth. At the project’s conclusion, EA produced measures of student growth based on the standards-aligned content teachers created through this process.
