Description

The primary role of the Cloud Systems Administrator is to work with the IT, Wev Dev, and Data Engineering teams to develop and support cloud infrastructure. This position is responsible for the network security of the environment, keeping the systems up to date, and ensuring availablity.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support deployment of inhouse develop applications on AWS infrastructure
  • Technical on-boarding of clients with SSO
  • Cross-functional collaboration, requirements gathering, and support for cloud systems
  • Determine CPU, memory sizing, and storage requirements for cloud deployments
  • Plan and identity and access management for cloud deployments
  • Analyze workload characteristics to ensure balance of performance and cost
  • Implement backup, restore, and business continuity measures
  • Troubleshoot deployment, capacity, automation, and orchestration issues
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and security issues
  • Managing ACLS’s Security Groups, and overseeing VPC network security
  • Monitoring patches, permissions, and service deployments
  • Monitoring the modification of and use of cloud resources
  • Setting cloud system security strategies, polices, and procedures
  • Documenting systems infrastructure
  • Resolving operational and security issues
  • Managing resource auto-scaling
  • May also serve as backup to the internal Systems Administrator on occasion

Previous experience and qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience with AWS, Linux, and web server administration
  • Scripting experience with BASH, Perl, PowerShell, Python, or Ruby
  • Familiarity with .NET application deployment
  • Server management experience
  • Knowledge of application-level security methods
  • Experience with various virtualization technologies
  • Single sign on administration with SAML, Oauth2, or OpenID Connect
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Cloud+ or AWS Cloud Practitioner are a plus
  • Ability to work individually or on a team
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

This position is offered as remote or on-premise, however due to COVID-19 will initially be remote only.
