Future Forward: Official Re-Launch!
Education Analytics is proud to announce that its early literacy program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Education Innovation and Research (EIR) award, has officially re-launched as Future Forward. Staying true to a research-proven program model, Future Forward serves aspiring readers with one-on-one tutoring during the school day and family engagement during out-of-school time.
In conjunction with local Boys & Girls Clubs affiliates, Future Forward has school-based sites in the Wisconsin cities of Antigo, Milwaukee, Sparta & WI Rapids, as well as Huntsville, Alabama and Hartsville & Pamplico, South Carolina. A site-wide training was held in Milwaukee, WI during the first week of October 2018, where Program Managers and Family Engagement Coordinators learned more about their roles and responsibilities, as well as the resources available to them. Staff from different cities had opportunities to begin building mutually supportive relationships, which will be maintained using various tools, such as shared online work spaces, video conferencing, and instant messaging.
Currently, all Future Forward sites have hired Site Coordinators, Program Managers, and Family Engagement Coordinators, and are nearly finished recruiting, hiring and training tutors. Most of the sites are already tutoring students and it is expected that all sites will be fully operational by the start of the new year. Family engagement has gotten off to a great start, having hosted events in Antigo, Milwaukee, WI Rapids and Huntsville.
It is a very exciting time for Future Forward, and it will be great to see the program continue to gain momentum!
