CORE Districts Growth Metrics
EA and CORE have collaborated on work involving student growth and school quality indicators since March 2014. EA’s primary role is assisting CORE’s staff and member districts with technical and policy-relevant details of various student growth modeling strategies, through a working relationship that invites all CORE districts’ inputs into the process of model design, implementation, and execution. Currently, EA is assisting CORE in the development and implementation of a student achievement growth measure on behalf of the CORE member districts. EA’s role is to assist CORE in identifying a growth model that is feasible given CORE’s stated guidelines for student-achievement evaluation, namely: holding schools accountable for student performance across different contexts and including at least one achievement-based aspect of teacher and principal evaluations into an outcomes-focused quality index.
